Distance Education

The Distance Education Program makes it possible for the student to study at home, working around the student's own personal schedule. The study materials are designed to help the student successfully complete the courses.

Enrollment in the Distance Education courses may be initiated at any time. The courses are not tied to a semester structure. Students are allowed 120 days to complete a course.

The Distance Education courses are offered on an institute (non-credit) or full credit basis.

Christian Service

As a college, we are strongly committed to the ministry of the local church and the importance of each individual’s participation in some form of regular Christian service. To encourage participation and spiritual growth, all students enrolled at Arlington Baptist College are expected to complete a minimum of one unit of Christian service for each semester of full-time enrollment.

This program consists of:

  1. A daily journal of one’s quiet time with the Lord.
  2. A record of participation in the services of the local church.
  3. An eight-hour Ministry Skills Assignment as explained in the section entitled “Christian Service”.
  4. Evaluation forms are to be completed by you and your pastor or his designate. In keeping with this policy, all distance education students who are enrolled for college credit shall participate in one supervised program of Christian service following every ten hours of credit earned at Arlington Baptist College. This requirement will run concurrently with enrollment in that class whose completion will cause the students accumulated hours to exceed 10, 20, 30, etc.

No degree will be issued to a student who has not completed at least three Christian Service Units or the equivalent. Students may also elect to participate at other times on a volunteer basis, and are encouraged to do so. There is a one-time materials fee of $10 for students taking Christian service for the first time.

Forms and procedures are available from the Director of Christian Service. They should be included with course packets as needed, but it is the responsibility of the student to see that this requirement is met.
